A Freshii Makeover

As a healthy eater, I get pretty excited when there are new restaurants that come to town that serve my needs so imagine how excited I was when I got to work with the franchise Freshii on their new Vancouver locations! This is an established chain on the east coast but these are their first 3 locations on the west coast of Canada.

They were looking for a makeover on their current brand so our firm, Jane Lockhart Design, looked at the core design elements and were able to update these to add new colour, graphics and materials so they have a more modern and west coast design aesthetic. Of course, we still had to support the existing brand but these particular owners felt that interior design plays a huge role in the growth of a brand and I couldn’t agree more!  (Ultimately, commercial Interior Design is about realizing a company’s identity in three dimensions and is the touchstone by which customers physically interact with that brand and that’s why design matters!)

Although these three photos are amateur camera shots (so the colour is quite off), the interior of the new Freshii locations in Vancouver are warm but modern using the mix blond and chocolate woods, fresh white walls, and an infusion of “lemon grass green”! I love the feel of natural materials combined with bright graphics and strong colour. This is definitely a design trend we are seeing for the future both in commercial and residential design.
