Jane’s Favourite Room Accessories For Summer

June 21 marked the first official day of summer. Here are some of my favourite things for this season!

Hudson’s Bay

Right now the Bay has great accessories for the home! Summer is such a great time to give your home some versatility by bringing new colours indoors that you may not normally use. Visit the Bay to find a large variety of home accessories in an array of bright colours.

Hauser

A big trend for the last couple years is extending your living space outdoors. The trend is only gaining momentum as we head into the summer of 2014. We have been working with our clients to extend the style and feel of their indoors into their backyards. As part of this, we have been working with Hauser and they have been simply amazing to work with!

Turquoises, blues and greens

Right now, I am loving all the items you can find in these colours. To me, summer is a time when we can be more whimsical by playing with bright colours in your homes. You can bring these colours into your home through throw pillows, throws, accessories or even by throwing a bright coloured pashmina over the back of a chair.

Chilewich

Outdoor carpets are a great way to make the outdoors feel warm and cozy. Chilewich has great styles to choose from for both carpets and placemats that can be used in and outdoors. They are durable and come in a variety of colours that will complement the rest of your outdoor living space.

Herbs and container gardens

I love to plant herbs, although I can never seem to keep them alive!! Fresh herbs in a kitchen are fantastic in the summer. With more and more condos and houses and yards getting smaller and smaller, container gardening is a great alternative to the traditional vegetable garden. They give you the opportunity to plant all of your favourite fruits and veggies and enjoy cooking with them without taking up so much space.

There you have it! These are my favourite items for this season! I hope you will check them out and enjoy them as much as I do.
