A customized renovation project fit for a world-class couple.
Canadian, Bob Proctor is a best-selling author, lecturer, influencer and thought leader to those seeking positive life outcomes. He’s the global CEO of the Proctor Gallagher Institute. He and his wife, author and mindset coach, Linda knew exactly what they wanted for their home renovation.
Before: This large project took less than a year thanks to the organizational skills of Marandola Contracting, a firm that specializes in commercial builds.
After: We supplied the interior design building document, commonly used in commercial construction.
The original home was a large bungalow set on a beautifully landscaped corner lot. But after living in the home, Bob and Linda knew what they needed to do to make their home perfect. By adding a second story, they would gain a larger principal bedroom, two walk-in closets, dressing rooms, and bathrooms.
The principal bedroom is inspired by world travel to premier hotels.
The Proctors opted for tiled flooring throughout, a practical and easy-to-maintain surface.
Her bathroom is a dream space come to life with dark-stained burled Walnut door fronts, grey-stained Maple with gold hardware.
His bathroom features the same burled Walnut cabinets with a black marble countertop.
His walk-in closet and dressing room adjoins his bathroom.
Walk-in dressing rooms should always be custom designed for personal use.
A curb-less shower is both practical and beautiful.
The renovation plan also included opening up the main floor breakfast room and den to open sightlines to the beautiful backyard. Removing walls usually leads to re-thinking floor plans to ensure the space flows and feels spacious, and this reno was no exception, preserving what worked and re-thinking what didn’t.

Much of Bob and Linda’s original furniture and several lighting fixtures were kept and reused in the updated home's interior. We always try to incorporate our client’s existing, treasured pieces that have high value and meaning to them.
Local builders, Amberwood Doors made stunning folding doors for the new den and kitchen in mahogany trim and full glass to showcase the beautiful back gardens.
Despite supply chain problems, local mill work company Estate Interiors made everything in their shop in Vaughan. Expert fabricators, they built all the cabinet boxes and doors and applied all the finishes to complete the unique custom-designed cabinetry throughout the house.
The kitchen has a central curved island for meeting and for casual dining.
The kitchen features custom-designed pull outs in drawers and a gorgeous La Cornue range in black and gold.
Linda and Bob Proctor are a glamorous couple who host parties and love to entertain at home. They host intimate gatherings as well as parties of more than 100 people, so their house needed to accommodate this important part of their lifestyle.
