Muskoka Cottage Makeover

Located on Lake Joseph in Muskoka, this picturesque four-bedroom cottage underwent a stunning transformation to align with contemporary design sensibilities while preserving its timeless charm.
The renovation carefully curated modern elements to enhance functionality and efficiency without compromising the cottage’s rustic character.
Large dormers, peaked roofs, and hemlock floors were retained, maintaining the cottage’s quintessential features.
The color palette was kept neutral, with hints of color reflecting the natural beauty of the surroundings, creating a seamless blend between the interior and the picturesque landscape.
A central aspect of the makeover was the complete overhaul of the kitchen and bathrooms. The kitchen now boasts a striking new tongue-and-groove ceiling with modern LED pot lights, enhancing the space’s airy and open feel.
The bathrooms were upgraded with new fixtures, tiles, and lighting, bringing brightness and a sense of modern luxury.
The renovation prioritized sustainability, with locally sourced materials minimizing environmental impact.
The result is a rejuvenated cottage that exudes brightness and serenity, harmoniously integrating contemporary comforts with the rustic beauty of Muskoka’s natural landscape.
The Muskoka Lakes are known around the world for their beautiful boathouses. This one is no exception with with its beautiful waterfront views and expansive upper and lower decks.
The interior refresh preserved all the ceiling details while introducing more playful colors and whimsical touches.
An extended kitchen servery counter with an added island transforms the space into a full guest house. A renovated bathroom and two bedrooms, featuring updated furniture and fabrics, complete this charming retreat.
